Fight Fire with Sapphire!

In his usual cynical and hateful style, Matt Hayden makes light of the near death of two non-animal creatures due to caffeine overdose.  If this weren't offensive enough, he manages to include a bilious attack on the left in the process.

Well, Matt, you may think it's all just a big chuckle.  But I can assure you that metabolic shutdown is no laughing matter. 

I can cite my own personal (and political!) experience of this very phenomenon.  You see, I have a sensitive metabolism.  I mean, like, really sensitive. 

And recently I started taking valerian, which is a herbal relaxant.  And I got addicted to it ...  Had to go on a chamomile program to kick the habit!

Having experienced such an ordeal, to have the issue mocked in such an offhand manner is extremely upsetting -- so upsetting, that I wish I could infuse some of that valerian tea to calm my frayed nerves right now! 

But obviously I can't ...  So, it looks like I'll have to spend the next 12 hours in my isolation tank just reach equilibrium again.

I have just learned of the sad demise of a fellow traveller from across the genetic divide.  While it is always tragic when a simean sister such as Fifi leaves the temporal realm, I must say there is at least one chimp I would love to see kick the bucket ASAP!

The fact that he is still around and probably will be for quite some time shows just how unfair the world is right now. 

Fellow tavellers, I am devastated!  The ABC's decision to show that appalling "documentary" The Great Global Warming Swindle was surely one of the most ominous developments in recent herstory.

The fact that it was shown, and that denialists were given a forum to air their noxious beliefs is too appalling for words! 

The hateful, coarse, right-wing ideologue Matt Hayden thinks this is a great thing.  But anyone who cares remotely about Gaia is deeply, deeply concerned.

Jocelyn and I are so upset, we are retreating to the isolation tank for at least a week.
